- Description
- Bee Pink is now a firm favourite for our wine club members, and a growing number of independent wine shops. We've made 2600 bottles from this vintage, and we are hoping for a rosé-by-the-pool kind of summer! It’s made in the Provence style – pale in colour, but with plenty of delicate fruit flavours.
- Eyes
- An attractive delicate pale pink.
- Nose
- A bright, and fragrant nose of raspberry granita with a touch of watermelon
- Mouth
- Bone dry and very refreshing, with light, mouthwatering citrus-peel freshness, and a ripe, exotic palate of white peach and redcurrant
- Winemaking notes
- Our friend Jean-Marc Lafage (who owns Chateau St Roch, near Maury, where we make our red wine) is one of the Roussillon’s finest rosé producers. He has allowed us to work with some of his Grenache, Grenache Gris and Syrah grapes to produce our own Bee Pink.
- Growing Conditions
- After a second dry summer, with a dry winter in between, the lack of water in the region is turning into a crisis, and the vines struggled to flower and ripen a normal sized crop. The heat, and shortage of water resulted in a lower yield of smaller-sized grapes, with plenty of colour and flavour.

88/100 Grenache Noir, Grenache Gris, Syrah from Lafage. Very pale in colour, this is a dry rosé with a hint of cherry and nice sweet pear and citrus fruit. Appealing and bright with nice texture. 88/100

16.5 / 20 "Very pale candy-floss pink. Lime and raspberry sherbet and blood orange. Lots of glittery angles and nippy sharpness with long chalky stripes of texture, but in the spaces, silk and strawberries. A super-quenching glass of wine. Makes me start daydreaming about plates of petite friture. "

89/100 "A pale, Provençal-style pink made from Grenache Noir, Grenache Gris and Syrah, this bursts with redcurrant and raspberry red fruitiness on the nose, a little Parma violet lift too. The palate is dry, the tartness of summer red berries as well as the light juiciness of fruit. It's light- to medium-bodied, but again there's just a little phenolic grip as well as the citrus acidity to balance and ensure this finishes dry and appetising. Wine Club members pay £12.80"
