- Description
- Our previous vintages of Bee Pink have been a sell out and it’s now a firm favourite for our wine club members. We've made 4000 bottles from this vintage, which should just about keep us in stock for the year!
It’s made in the Provence style – very pale in colour, but with plenty of delicate fruit flavours.
- Eyes
- An attractive delicate pale pink.
- Nose
- A bright, and fragrant nose of raspberry granita with a touch of watermelon
- Mouth
- Bone dry and very refreshing, with light, mouthwatering citrus-peel freshness, and a ripe, exotic palate of white peach and redcurrant
- Winemaking notes
- Our friend Jean-Marc Lafage (who owns Chateau St Roch, near Maury, where we make our red wine) is one of the Roussillon’s finest rosé producers. He has allowed us to work with some of his Grenache, Grenache Gris and Syrah grapes to produce our own Bee Pink.
- Growing Conditions
- A very wet winter was extremely welcome, as it topped up the ground water, and meant that there were plenty of reserves to draw on later in the year when the drought started to bite. The flowering period was very calm, warm and dry, and as a result, our Grenache cropped well. The summer was both hot and dry, but the dry period was more extended, with very little rain in between the end of April and the middle of August. We were worried for our vines, but their deep roots found sufficient water, and enough light rain in late August and September allowed the final ripening to happen perfectly for the reds
